What is the CDHCI Program?
The Client Directed Home Care Invoicing (CDHCI) program is a province-wide initiative by Alberta Health Services and Alberta Blue Cross. It allows eligible Albertans to receive publicly funded home care from the private provider of their choice.
Instead of being assigned an AHS care team, you choose a trusted provider like Renova Health Care. We handle everything—hiring caregivers, scheduling, managing care plans, and billing Alberta Blue Cross directly.
Getting Started is Easy
Navigating government-funded home care can be complex. Our dedicated team is here to guide you through each step of the process, ensuring you receive the high-quality care you deserve with confidence and ease.
Initial Consultation with Renova
Reach out via our online form or by phone for a complimentary consultation. Our experienced care advisors will answer your questions and provide clear, step-by-step guidance on successfully navigating the CDHCI application process.
The AHS Assessment
We will assist you in requesting your official home care assessment from Alberta Health Services, which is the required next step to determine your eligibility and secure publicly funded care hours.
Initiate Your Personalized Care
Upon approval, simply designate Renova as your chosen provider. We will carefully match you with our qualified caregivers and manage all direct billing with Alberta Blue Cross—ensuring zero out-of-pocket costs for your approved services.
Who is Eligible?
To qualify for the CDHCI program, you must meet the following requirements:
- Be an Alberta resident with a valid health care card
- Have care needs that can be safely met in your home
- Be assessed by an AHS Case Manager who determines CDHCI is suitable
- Be willing to self-direct your care or appoint a CDHCI manager
Note: You do NOT need an existing Alberta Blue Cross plan to be eligible.
